You remember the good ol' Origami Cranes for Japan Project, yes?
That was not too long ago, and proved pretty fruitful: over $200 was raised for Japan, and off it went into donation. However the thought was always to make 1,000 cranes, which ideally meant $1,000, but I never really pushed the project that far. School and life got in the way.
But now I am back, and while Japan has faded from our news and media (because things can really only last two weeks at most before it becomes "stale"), the destruction and devastation continues to affect the lives of tens of thousands of people every single day.
So I wish to get this project up-and-running again, the goal once again being $1,000. I truly believe it can be done.
The minimum donation we are asking for is $1: that really is not that much. That's a Whopper Jr. at Burger King. We are also asking that, if you've already donated, you make cranes.
The end goal is to create a collage of cranes in honor of those whose lives were taken by the Japan earthquakes and tsunami.
So take five minutes today to donate, post it on Facebook, email it to a couple people, and make some cranes.
Oh yeah, and if we raise $1,000, I will skydive in a banana suit on film. If the skydiving people let me.
The O.R.A.K.-er that brings in the biggest donation receives a free T-Shirt and will be featured on the blog.
